Upon awakening we spend a small amount of time getting ready. Rak looks as though hes come up with some new concoctions, Mirei looks as though shes prepared her magic more so than usual, and Harvus seems to have an even more intense look of determination than before. As for myself, I think I have a better idea on how to handle the elemental magic that flows through my blood. I had hoped that I wouldn’t have to test my theory to soon however.
Harvus turned to the group and in an unshakable tone said that he was going to head back to the cove and hopefully find Sandara alive. Part of me really wanted to help, but I felt as though I would be of little use down there. Just as I was resigned to offer my assistance anyway, Mirei spoke up, offering to assist the bold strix with his quest. Rak offered a potion to assist him, but we knew someone had to meet the crew of the ship lest we all be left behind. And so with the intent of convincing the others to come back for them, the party parted ways.
Rak thankfully had another potion available for use and at my request, handed it to me. I had no idea what we would encounter on the way back, but I’d rather be as best prepared for it as I could. We were safely able to make it to the destroyed bridge, where Rak showed off his skills and chucked all but five coconuts clearly across the river. We climbed the trees and branches back across and made our way to the beach we originally landed at with record time.
However when we arrived, we found that some members of the crew were already there, looking through the huts and bones that littered the beach-side. Among them was Scourge who demanded to know what happened on the island and the whereabouts of the other two. We explained the short version of the events that happened which then prompted him to command the others to beat us for “Not following orders”.
Slippery Syl was the first to hit me across the face whilst Ebony slipped in behind. I saw Rak hit with a rather hard thwap from Samms. I took up a defensive stance and made a threat that the next person to hit me would soon regret it. This didnt go over well with Scourge however, as he made another snide remark and whipped my face from a distance. Ebony kept attempting to grab and hold me from behind, but I continued to slip out of his grasp, and after a few more hits of both the physical and verbal, they offered me an ultimatum. Kneel and stop what I was doing and they would forgive, or else. I kneeled, but I think Ebony could sense my hostility and intent to go all out on Scourge the moment he got close enough. He looked to me and caught my eye and shook his head slowly, as though he were trying to tell me something. I clenched my fist and bit my lip and decided to trust him, both out of guilt, and something told me he knew more than he let on. Regardless I looked up at Scourge once again before getting struck one more time and then only blackness.
